🔌 Enhanced GlobalSat MCX-to-SMA Antenna Port Adapter Cable Review

Exceeded my expectations, reasonable price and fast shipping. I needed this connection converter for a set of RTL2832U and R820T DVB-T USB sticks that I bought from NooElec.com. Using Radio Shack SMA UHF connectors I was able to connect my antennas. I would recommend this to radio amateurs using the article "Cheap and Easy SDR" published in QST January 2013.

While I'm glad I found the MCA-SMA adapter, the price of $14.95 is way too high. For what I paid for it, I could buy something like this for 1/3 the price, maybe even less. It doesn't matter to me whether the stoppers are made of gold, silver or even tin. It's too expensive for what you get. I know a guy on ebay who would like to sell me one of these for less than $5. I think I'll consider his services if I'm paying $15 for a 6 inch cable that can customize my ports. In fact, I'll buy another…

This is a well made, good value cable adapter from the NooElec USB RTL-SDR receiver's MCX connector to the much more common SMA connector popular in today's radios So changing from SMA to BNC, Type N or any other connector on your antenna is very easy. I prefer short cord adapters over hard adapters that put a lot of strain on the outlet. Mine stays more or less permanently on RTL-SDR.
