I think it's just not a very good design. For cable strain relief, you need something easy to install. It's not like this. The optimal hole is not round if you want a tight fit, which means it's not as easy as drilling a hole. They are also finicky to tamper with the cable. The material is quite hard plastic so you cannot close it tightly. Not recommended.
