🌡️ GlowShift Black 7 Color 260 F Transmission Temperature Gauge Kit: Car & Truck Electronic Sensor - Black Dial - Clear Lens - 2-1/16" 52mm Review

Purchased and installed June 2020. Today 3rd November the backlight is not working and will not turn on. Only the needle glows. Pressing the button or disconnecting the harness does not work. What now? I can't see what it says, and I can't just rip it out with a gaping hole in the dash.

Installed in my Mini Chevy G30 RV. Needed a 2 inch hole saw for the dash cutout. The fit was perfect and connected as described. I liked the brightness, didn't connect a blunt wire. Uses the pressure port on the gearbox for the sensor. Installation was easy with easy to follow instructions. After a few weeks of use it is working perfectly. I set this to keep an eye on the temp while towing. Gives me peace of mind in my old RV.

Every sensor they sell comes with lots of wires going from the sensor to the motor or elsewhere. Except in this caliber, it comes with 2 foot seat belts! So if your sensor is not within 2 feet of your transmission you will need a separate "extension" as they call it. I don't know where to buy it, but it says in the instructions, the wiring harness doesn't even have double insulation, only thin wires stick out, so be sure to take shrink wrap or some other protective wrap for the wires.

The device is also very nice from the back. It also comes with a nice connector on the back. I give 3 stars because as the load on the generator increases, the voltage per thermometer drops several degrees. When I turn on my two electric fans, the temperature drops about 4 degrees. Another downside is that the color memory resets sometimes, but I'll try plugging the DC power cord into a new power supply and maybe it will fix it, but I doubt it. Since we often camp in the mountains, we often drive on steep gravel roads or maneuver in places that are difficult to access. Glowshift is definitely better than other big brands I've used. I used an Autometer from their factory match line and it was rubbish. I had to go through three broadcast blocks to get a good one and the autometer gauge also had a sticky arrow. I had to click on it to get the reading. It also had screw posts and knife clamps.
