Good balanced candles, especially for the price!

Very good plugs for the money! Always tin the cable and cable lugs on the plug first! Then all you need to do is quickly heat the pencil and glue them together. I also suggest potting silicone on the inside of the fork for added durability. Shrink the connector body onto the wire and you get a professional job that will outlast the wire itself!

  • Datura 🔥

Value for money - accessories and consumables

As Switchcraft prices its products outside of the consumer market, it has become imperative for cable manufacturers to find cost effective alternatives. These connectors accept solder well and they just work. They will be used in a home studio so I don't expect any durability issues. I am very happy with this purchase and will buy again if I need more. I highly recommend this product.

Excellent connections. Ideal for handmade studio cables.

GLS connectors are ideal for tight wiring closets and are similar in quality to Switchcraft switches. For the price they are unbeatable. Use good Canare or Mogami wire and you'll get top-notch custom cables. Strain relief is good if you know how to properly prep the wire and clamp the sheath, they take rework well and I've never had a bad wire or fallen apart from too much heat. Confirms a good choice!

  • Still Satisfied
Cons
  • Unreliable

Solid connector for the price

Received today and secured 5 cables. These are good plugs for the price. I recently bought some other plugs that were a bit cheaper but they weren't very good and had a lot of problems. However, these GLS connectors are great and only cost a few cents more per connector. They aren't as expensive as other higher quality connectors but for the price they sell they are great connectors. I will for sure buy again.

  • Several competitors

  • Nothing

Functional but not robust

These connectors are about 30% lighter than Switchcraft's professional TRS connectors, so they are not as reliable, but still functional. Much of the subtlety is reflected in the screen and internal screen connector, but the connectors stay firmly on axis and don't twist or wobble like other cheap connectors. They solder fairly easily. Best used for a more semi-permanent setup, e.g. in a studio, rack, broadcast, etc. I wouldn't recommend them for heavy-duty off-rack, plug-and-disconnect use.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Protection

Well as with better known brands there is a slight inconvenience

I have been wiring for recording studios including my own studio for many years. I no longer work in the studio as a job, but as a private hobby. In the past I've used Neutrik and Switchcraft connectors, which are widely used for their reliability and durability. I recently hooked up some studio racks with 1/4" TRS balanced jacks. I decided to try these GLS connectors because they are less expensive than the more established brands I have used in the past. I found them to be just as good as the
