Dangerous scratching post is the best of beds and furniture

Dangerous scratching post I bought this scratching post for my 3 year old cat to give her extra stimulation. The wooden carpet is soft and luxurious, and the five legs are wrapped with a thin, tightly knotted rope. We assembled the tree and I was excited because I knew she would love the different textures. To my dismay my cat got her claw caught between the ropes a few minutes after set up that evening and panicked. She was dangling by her right front paw. She panicked, twisting and turning to

You get what you pay for.

I was very happy with it at first. My cats love it, it's not that difficult to assemble and the price is very reasonable. However, I've had it for a year now and it's falling apart. I admit my cats use it more than many cats. There are two of you and you run across the room and jump up. One of them uses the top tower as a jumping off point to jump to a very high ledge, which she likes to hang out on. About 6 months ago it seemed to move a lot when they jumped on it and I added some clamps to…

Don't let the price fool you

This cat tree comes at an incredible price. I was a little skeptical after reading some of the reviews but I'm so glad I made the choice. The shelves are small, but it's not critical. I suppose when they wear out I replace them with larger circles myself. I was also concerned about the size of the house/box. It's quite small, but my cats like to curl up small enough to be completely in, and one side of it comes out on a ledge so they can stretch out and be half in, half out. Stability doesn't…

I like it. Casper loves it!

If Casper (our cat) could rate this scratching post he would give it 5 stars. As I write this review I'm giving it 4 stars because it's a great scratching post for our one cat, but it can be a bit small (platforms) and easy for two or more cats and even some very large cats. Casper immediately (after a few minutes he sniffled) started playing and using the scratching posts. [View Video] Assembly was quick and took less than 1/2 hour. I suggest installing the 3 bottom posts first, then attaching

Excellent and affordable. But it's better for small cats.

I am satisfied with this cat tree. Small and affordable. But as most people have pointed out, it's actually quite 'small'. My advice to those watching, if your cat is over 15 pounds you should probably consider something larger. This unit is "just right" enough for my little 10 lb tabby kitten. She loves it and scrapes HELL out of him. We were very fortunate to have an easily disciplined cat, so she didn't scratch our sofa or carpet. Now she's going crazy over this thing. You can see the…

Sweet scratching post

Sweet scratching post. My kitties seem to like it. I promise the photo wasn't sideways on my phone, but I'm not Ansel Adams. Or maybe I photographed it on it and they both defy gravity. As if I knew. Gravity works in mysterious ways. Anyway I'm only giving it 4 stars because some of my cats are a bit bigger (fatter) but don't tell them I said that. They don't go that well with the wood and don't take great care of it, which isn't due to this product but rather my gross incompetence in spending…

It's ok, but could be much stronger.

Pretty good considering how much it costs. It was easy to put together, only took me about 20 minutes and probably even less without my kitty's help. The kit has everything you need to assemble and the instructions are clear. My kitten is only 16 weeks old so she is perfectly fine now, I don't know how she will act when she grows up. It's not very strong, I've definitely had better quality trees, but for the price I think it's ok. Don't buy it if you have big/heavy cats. 4 stars only because…

Perfect scratching post but arrived damaged

I have just adopted a 10 week old kitten and wanted to spoil my new baby Nala. The product came in a large box and was fairly easy to assemble. It took less than 30 minutes to assemble and once it was finally installed Nala liked it immediately and started playing with the little mice hanging from the platforms. Although the carpet/faux fur material is very soft it doesn't look like it will last long. The same applies to ropes. I'm sure when the time comes I'll just rip out the old ropes and…

Too small/slippery for big cats. Keep searching.

This may be good for kittens, but my full sized fluffy kitten (15lb, not overweight, just muscular) tried to jump up but couldn't latch on to the "faux fur/plush" like her call, hold on to it. "Fabric that many of these scratching posts are now using instead of real carpet. He slid back and almost fell (no grip) but managed to catch himself on the way down, leaning on the cat's elbows(?). On top of the small "shelter" Both my cats like sisal, but as they are adults my cats cannot stretch out…
