excellent tool best in gauge sets

This is a great tool for keeping track of the tread depth of your tires. I know most places these days do multi-point inspections and provide tire tread depth reports, but I personally don't buy a car from a store every month or even quarter, so I needed a way to track it myself between stores. visits. The caliber is a lot smaller than I thought it would be, but it just makes it easier to store away until you need it. Intuitive design, easy to read thanks to color coding and numbers. The onlyโ€ฆ

Works best as described in Parts

. Now you can be sure that your tires are too low. I understand the penny test works and is still valid, but it gives you an accurate reading every time so you know how much tread depth you have left! Don't let a set of tires or an inspection fool you. In Pennsylvania, 2/32 of an inch is the legal limit, and anything below that is illegal. The local dealer tried to sell her new tires and failed the inspection. They're at 4/32, which is double the limit. Next time someone tries to rob you, justโ€ฆ

A MUST-HAVE Tire Tread Depth Gauge

This invaluable tool is a MUST HAVE for anyone who truly cares about their loved ones and takes their loved ones with them wherever they go. Now you know how important it is to have tires that work properly. Tires are the only thing between the rims of your wheels and the tarmac/gravel/mud/mud you drive on and having the right tread depth is also important to keep your car on the road on wet roads and avoid water aquaplaning. Get to the point? Yes, this product will help you know when it's time

Does its job well: Lighting and electrics

You put the sensor in the tire profile and there is depth. Easy. A few things stand out. The colors make it easy to identify the condition of the tread and changing tires. Green is good, yellow is a warning, red is the fastest possible replacement. Also, after the measurement, the colored stick will not move or fall back into the metal sleeve until you press it. With other products this is not always the case and you can lose the measurement. While I like the idea of a metal clip on thisโ€ฆ

A good way to check is with a car dealer who will tell you that

My local Toyota dealer told me I need new tires. Coincidentally, they had a special tire the following month. Being a curmudgeon, I waited until my local Sam's club had a tire sale because our family buys their tires there. Well, when I handed the car over to Sam, the technicians told me that the tread depth on the tires was fine. What gives? Looking back on all past car service records, my tires seem to go from brand new (green on Toyota service chart) to yellow (needing service very soon)โ€ฆ

Enough for spare parts

This is a simple mechanical tread depth sensor, what can happen to it? The construction feels solid and glides smoothly. There's enough friction to keep the carriage from moving on its own, so you can check the tire, slide the gauge back, and take a reading. I think it will withstand some abuse and not fall apart. Has a pocket clip to prevent it from falling out of your shirt pocket when you bend over. The only thing that came to my mind was the problem with such a sensor, how accurate it is. I
