I definitely should have read the whole description but the strap was not included. Will not be sending it back very happy

Replaced a rusted 30 year old winch of the same model. As you might expect, the old one was a heavier design. It probably won't last 30 years. But she does what she has to do. In my application, the winch raises the swinging keel of a 100+ pound sailboat. One of my team members accidentally disengaged the winch with the lock released. The pen hit her pretty hard, leaving an ugly bruise. It's not the fault of the wind, of course. But I offer this as a cautionary tale. Be safe there.

I had high hopes for this winch as it is made in the USA, compact and has a long warranty. He didn't meet my expectations. The product has a design flaw: the spool is too small to be used with the strap of the specified length. It didn't work with the 15" strap. I bought this winch to use with the Attwood Sewn Loop End Winch Strap (15ft), ASIN B003EEX5JM.
