Great Product in my review

I have a small tree in my front yard that I trim back every year to make it fuller. The pair of clippers I had did the trimming, but getting the lock feature to move was next to impossible. Most of the time I had to find something to pry it with, but not anymore. The Gonicc8 has a lock feature that I can flip with one finger. I just love everything about these clippers, and I am so glad I bought them.

Pros
  • Hand Tools
Cons
  • The tool can be expensive, particularly compared to other gardening tools on the market

Really happy I bought this . . . once I figured out how to use it

I am a woman in my late 50s with tendinitis in both of my wrists from years of typing. I bought these ratchet pruners knowing that other reviewers had said they would not consistently open or close cuz the locking mechanism was too stiff. At first that was true for me also – could not get the darn things to open a time or two and then regularly could not get them to close. However, I did two things: First I wrapped a little piece of Velcro strap around the handle, so that if it wouldn’t close…

Pros
  • Let's you get more power and less fatigue on your hands.
Cons
  • These are not as sharp as my older clippers and probably should send them back.

Best shears I've ever owned

To be fair, they're also the only shears I've ever owned. I got my first one in June, and I just ordered a second pair (3 months later). I'm restoring a property that has been neglected for years and these are a lifesaver. I've used these to cut through 2" thick branches without a problem. I cleared out a memorial with only these shears, and they have held up against my rampant abuse. 10/10

Pros
  • They dont stay sharp. You might get 2 months out of them
Cons
  • The blade can become dull quickly if used on particularly tough or fibrous materials

I thought this was great .

But that was the ratings.Actually it's very average.HOWEVER, the ratchet device is an advantage. It doesn't work all the time but it's clever.

Pros
  • Para podar las flores
Cons
  • I really don't care for the swivel handle, but other wise fine.

Value and job performance.

These clippers perform the job they were intended to do better than any other clippers I have ever used. There are, however, some design issues that result in stress on some moving parts that ultimately failed. The company replaced the faulty clippers Immediately.

Pros
  • Handle - Made of Hidh Quality chrome vanadium steel, and the special reinforced design makes the shears stronger and powerful.
Cons
  • The blade can become damaged if used to cut materials that are too thick or tough

works well and is better than most pruning shears

The trimmer works fine and the recaching action gives you more leverage to cut larger branches . My primary complaint is the locking slide , when i received the trimer the lock was on and i had to work about 30 minutes and exert a lot of force to get it open and no matter how hard i try i am unable too close the trimer blades for storage. It appears to be well made with the exception of this feature.

Pros
  • Don't know yet, it's a gift.
Cons
  • The reinforced handle design can be uncomfortable to grip for extended periods, especially for those with larger hands

Nice Garden Tool for my opinion

I tried this to in the garden yesterday and they worked really well. It felt a little weird with the bottom handle moving but they did a great job. I guess the real test will come when I have to do a lot of cutting to see if my fingers fatigue.

Pros
  • Worked so well at this pruning! Not an easy job!
Cons
  • The blade can become dull quickly, requiring frequent sharpening

Hard on roses but not on your hands

These really help aging hands doing minor trimming around the yard with comfortable rolling motion. Much better than traditional scissor types.

Pros
  • Durable and Stable - The high-quality construction ensures that the products will last you for years to come.
Cons
  • The anvil design can create pressure points on the branch, leading to increased risk of breakage or damage

Decent clippers on my review.

Easy to hold and use. Decent for small to medium sized branches. The lock is a little tricky to engage as you have to line up the mechanism just so.

Pros
  • Quality Blades - Professionally built utilizing SK-5 Steel that meets the highest standards and gives you precision on each cut. Ideal use for light branches of trees, rose bush, shrubs and hedges.
Cons
  • The tool can be difficult to disassemble for cleaning or maintenance purposes

Sharp pruner! for my opinion

Like this. It is sharp so be careful. Adjust well to different sizes of plant limbs. Definitely out does a $45 one I’m returning.

Pros
  • Wasn't sure about the spinner handle, but it is amazing. Hand does not hurt!
Cons
  • The anvil design can lead to increased wear and tear on the blade, leading to a shorter lifespan

Pros and Cons, ended up replacing them.

I bought these for pruning my rose bushes, I have about 30, and thin branches. I bought these for the spring, which is now in California, when I prune back all my roses down to 1-2ft. Pros:-They fit my small hands well.-They look like much more expensive models and feel very solid.-They pruned 10 rose bushes very well.Cons:-The action isn’t as smooth as I was anticipating, it sort of clicks as it comes down.- The deal breaker: After 10 bushes, they seem to have completely lost their sharpness…

Pros
  • My hands are smaller and had a hard time holding onto this cutter when nothing was being cut.
Cons
  • The anvil design can damage delicate stems or branches, particularly if the tool is not used correctly

Start Small, Stay Small

Used for general pruning of lower live limbs. Any material 1/2 inch diameter and smaller cuts just fine. When you get to 3/4 inch diameter material and above, cutting gets to be too much. The ratcheting can't power through and trying to force it could damage the mechanism. So as long as you stay in the smaller diameter range, the cutter will do the job.

Pros
  • very sharp easy to cut sticks for kindling.
Cons
  • The tool is not suitable for left-handed users, as it is designed for right-handed use

Bucking the bud best in my review

I harvest Cannabis with these clippers. They are a Chinese knock-off of a swiss model that is $50. For the $30 savings, I still think they are better than the other option, a $10 pair of Fiskars. I like them for post processing up to bucking. I am slicing through branches and bushes the equivalent of a rose bush with ease. They feel a little light for being steel, but they do the job without any major issues. I would buy again, but I would also consider spending more on the $50 Swiss made ones…

Pros
  • The anvil groove design allows for easy cutting of tough, woody stems and branches
Cons
  • The tool can be difficult to use on angled branches or stems, leading to an increased risk of damage

Works better than I could have imagined

I don’t have much hand strength and really have struggled with regular shears. In fact I dreaded trimming my shrubs. But these made it so simple and with the ratcheted action it was cutting through butter.

Pros
  • The ratcheting mechanism ensures clean and precise cuts with minimal effort
Cons
  • The ratcheting mechanism can be difficult to toggle back and forth, leading to frustration for some users

Ergonomic and comfortable, very sharp, and well made

Simply put, these are the Rolls Royce of pruning shears. The rotating and padded handles make them very comfortable and ergonomic. The bypass design and very sharp blades make the least stressful cuts on your plants. They glide thru woody stems like butter. And the locking mechanism has 3 settings, closed, half open and fully open, which lets you adjust them for your hand size. I have smallish hands so I use them in the middle setting, which is big enough for all my hand pruning needs, but I…

Pros
  • The ergonomic handle design ensures comfortable use and reduces strain on your hands, wrists, and arms, making pruning tasks easier and more enjoyable
Cons
  • The blade can become warped if exposed to extreme heat or cold, leading to a loss of cutting power

Broke in half in less than 4 months

The lock broke after just a month or two. Then they broke apart completely in my hand a couple months later. Just such bad quality and sad that I have to throw them away. I wasn't even using these on trees or anything large, mostly just blackberry bushes. Giving two stars instead of one because at least before they broke they were very comfortable to use.

Pros
  • Grass Clippers & Shears
Cons
  • The anvil design can lead to tearing of the plant tissue, rather than a clean cut

Very good for what it is . . . but what is it?

This device is not meant for large diameter branches. The reason being that it does not open very wide. However, anything it can get its grip on it cuts effortlessly through. The ratchet mechanism sees to that. If you have never used a ratchet cutter you are in for a pleasant surprise. It cuts in increments; shifting "gears" so to speak until the branch is cut. My only complaint is with the handle's design. It has a separate hole for your index finger and a wider hole for your remaining…

Pros
  • These are economical and work very well
Cons
  • The anvil groove design can leave jagged edges on cut branches, making it difficult to achieve a clean cut
