Works as expected - engines and engine parts

Got this for my 2004 Dodge 2500 diesel and solved the wastegate problem. There are many different ways to fix a CEL but I need a reliable standard truck so I decided to fix it the right way. Getting there is a bit of a hassle as you have to remove all the turbine air ducts and such. I went to Harborfrigt and bought the correct wrench and cut it down to turn in tight spaces.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Empty

Read this if you want to save money

Save money and buy from bd diesel or any other popular diesel website. The fit and finish of this wastegate regulator is good. However, the functionality is annoying. On a test ride it worked great, I put on 45 pounds of boost with ease. Now it's hit or miss, sometimes it generates all the acceleration, but most of the time it behaves like it's still broken and only generates 23 pounds of lift. I had to spend another $100 and buy a famous brand.

Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

The OEM part costs about $270 or more, almost 1/3 the cost. Problem fixed, truck now gets full boost. My 2006 has only 55,000 miles on it and the original part has failed, corroded and broken wires. Hope this one lasts longer. FYI, the placement of the turbocharger and this solenoid must be in a low air pressure area while driving. I rarely, if ever, use my truck in snow/salt conditions, but the turbocharger and solenoid have been subject to corrosion from constant exposure to salty…

  • Complete kit
Cons
  • Sad kit

It tells the wastegate to open it's important

I was told my wastegate won't open I finally turned on the boost sensor and realized I did when I got in the truck , said I got in, I pushed 40 pounds of boost, no I know it's not a race truck and a lot of people go for 40 pounds, but I didn't want to, I just wanted to get back to normal, and he did his job, he controls the boost and the wastegate it manages, What I meant to say is wastegate so it works fine. I've been doing a lot of research on YouTube, all these things that nobody really…

Pros
  • Easy setup

  • No instructions

Fits best in Engines and Engine Parts

UPDATE: 1/24/19: I contacted the seller on 1/20/19 asking for a replacement. They replied that these devices only have a 90 day guarantee, so WARNING - these devices only have a 90 day guarantee! However, since the warranty was running out, they sent me a replacement. Got a replacement and will install it over the weekend. I will update this review in a few months. UPDATE: 01/20/19: This morning I have code P0243 again - specific to this wastegate controller. I am contacting the manufacturer…
