What I like best is the adjustable blade, you just choose the thickness you want, that's a lot better than changing blades. and the blade was sharp, I peeled 5 pounds off a potato and they went through the blade almost like a hot knife through butter. And very high-quality workmanship, durable and inexpensive.

This is the best slicer I have ever had. I've had a few over the years that had to be assembled for each use and it's becoming too much of a problem to mess around with blades. I like the strength of this slicer and the fact that it is one piece. I can switch between cuts easily and the feed is quite wide. It is very easy to clean and store.

I love this mandolin. I've used them in the past but they were terrible. This is great because you can adjust it right on the side with a dial. It's durable and very sharp. I couldn't believe how fast I could cut. Haven't used it for anything yet because potatoes. I'll try it with a tomato. That would be a real test. So far I have no complaints. This is a wonderful new tool for my kitchen.

I received this as a gift so I don't know how it compares to other similar products in terms of price and performance. I've only used it once but it was easy - as easy as they always look in the ad! I've only used a regular cutting blade, but I can't wait to try the julienne next time. Cleaning was easy. The product was a nice weight, appears to be of good quality. There were no instructions in the kit other than general information on the box itself.

I had a Pampered Chef plastic mandolin and never liked it. The shape of the guide was not suitable for round vegetables such as onions. The guide broke and you had to buy a new mandolin as they changed the design. I found this metal and it looks like the round veg instructions will work. Very satisfied. We like to chop the onion very thin, bread it and fry it into onion strips. It works great for this and many other purposes.
