i love this line! I have nerve damage in my dominant hand and was terrified of using rotary cutters until I discovered this ruler. The ledge is a raised ledge that gives me almost twice as much protection against torch slippage as I could have had. And this is the only ruler I will give to my granddaughters when they want to cut fabric. It's well made, sturdy and a great addition to my sewing workshop!

Works great. The only thing I wish for is a non-slip surface, like universal-grip rulers. If I could combine these two methods, it would be an unprecedented option for cutting fabrics for quilts. My mother is paralyzed, which makes it difficult for her to cut fabric. This rule allows her to keep a straight line. It's better than scissors for them and lets them use the slicer with confidence. I buy Truecut non-slip stuff to put on this ruler to keep it from slipping (more like a universal grip).

Well, as other reviewers have pointed out, the numbers are a bit annoying as they aren't printed both ways, but that's easy to work with. What I don't like is how difficult it is to read the actual color of the ink they used for the grid lines. It's a lighter bluish color than black, so the lines are hard to see on most fabrics, especially with all those little square holes. The concept is GREAT! I have an RA in my right hand and as a result I seem to confuse the cuts and deviate from the ruler's path. This line solves that problem. BUT! Printing a cutting guide for a specific length/width is BAD! (Others do it better!). I received a ruler (not visible in the picture) who is holy but not righteous! Is that anything but FLAT? If it were a piece of wood, it would be too twisted to play around with. I tried it tonight, first use (no hard grip). I couldn't apply enough
