I use this pan for solar cooking. Solar works best with dark, light-colored pots and pans. Granite cookware does just that. Because it has no handles, this particular pot fits perfectly in a large pyrex bowl, and with a second large pyrex bowl flipped over at the top and secured with brackets, it makes a solar oven. I only wanted to give 4 stars because other reviewers were concerned about the longevity of the pan. However, my pan has no visible defects, it is uniform and solidly made, the lid fits perfectly and the price is very reasonable. Also, I've already used this pan to bake bread for one of those "craft" recipes and the bread was pretty good - hence 5 stars!
