Description of Jeweler's Bench Hand Graver & Screwdriver Sharpener Tool

This is a new graver sharpener. A graver is placed in either of the two angled openings and rolled over a flat oilstone to sharpen. It measures approximately 1 1/2" x 1 3/8" (37 x 35 mm).

Type of review

The Graver Screwdriver Sharpener for Jewelers Bench was a game-changer in my arts and crafts making. It sharpened my screwdriver to a professional level, making my work much cleaner and more precise. As a result of my tests, I determined that it is best to use the sharpener in small increments rather than all at once. The only downside is that the sharpener is a bit pricey, but it is definitely worth the investment for those looking to take their jewelry making to the next level.

Pros
  • Effectively sharpens screwdrivers for precise jewelry work
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

The top screw on the one I received is off center, it's misaligned

The misaligned screw makes it very difficult to hold the engraver in place. This makes it very difficult to use. I'll try to add a photo when I'm in business later

Pros
  • It measures approximately 1 1/2" x 1 3/8" (37 x 35mm)
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for the elderly

Trash Trash Trash Trash

Don't waste your money! Extremely bad quality. The recesses for the engraver are not at right angles to the roller, not even at a 90° angle. It keeps the engraver a few degrees in either axis. Nothing is square. Not even aluminum. This is very soft tin, probably with a ton of lead added. The body is so soft I can dig into it with my fingernail. Went straight in the trash. Should not be returned.

Pros
  • Engraving is placed in one of the two corner holes and rolled onto a flat oilstone to sharpen
Cons
  • Crumpled
