The best are still around.

I'm repainting old bikes and I wanted to get the best out of it. These coasters are 50 years old maybe older and they are still the best. All aluminum construction, light weight, strong and extremely durable. You have to cut them to fit, but it's worth the effort.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • A negative impression

Sturdy, well designed footboard that seems to last a lifetime

This is a very simple product that is well designed and built. The stand was easy to set up and raised or lowered instantly when placed in position. It took my hacksaw a few tries to trim the footpeg down to the correct length for the bike I installed it on, but aluminum cuts very easily. I suspect it will last longer than the bike I attached it to.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • There are flaws

Greenfield have been making them for ages and the quality is still good. I took a long one (305mm) and cut it to fit my Giant FCR2. One issue I had was that the last bracket that attaches the footpeg to the frame is wider than the old one and doesn't leave room for the derailleur cable. Luckily I still had the old mount that worked with the new stand.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Not the best

This kickstand is good quality, durable

Installed on a 1995 Haro Shredder Chrome Aluminum Freestyle Bike. My son inherited the bike and it was quickly realized that he needed a stand to keep the bike in pristine condition. The stand is high quality, durable, securely attached. The workmanship is ok, hence 4 stars. It's a little rough, but it doesn't look out of place on a bike. The hardware is questionable and seems too light to be effective, but it's just a stand so it should be fine.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Appearance

Works well and at a good price

Holds the bike great. As tools I used a vise, a hacksaw, a metal file and an open-end wrench. Before cutting and filing, pay attention to the original flat surfaces. Also, I put the bike on some small 2x4s to get an idea of how much needs to be cut off after tipping the bike into position. So I attached the footboard twice: the first time to know how much to cut, and the second time attached more firmly and securely with Loctite. A rubber base (sold separately) also works well. At the time of…

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Was damaged
