Allows placement of the drill bit at any point within the wall. Helpful in judging where the bit will be during drilling to avoid accidentally drilling through the wall. Useful for vertical and horizontal placements. Use to position all bit and shaft sizes. Limited service.

Essential when using long drill bits

When using long flexible drill bits to drill a few posts or to penetrate a wall or floor, this bit bending tool is essential. Just make sure to keep the hole spacing within the code.

Useful but not durable

This tool bent approximately 15 degrees when first used. It was helpful but I expected more. I have yet to drill a drip and hope it holds up. 6' "Flexible" drill bits still require a lot of bending force, so I don't know how I could be more careful.

Poor design of the drill setting tool. Reinforced for use.

This drill setting tool is ridiculously underengineered. The first time it was used it broke at a weak point. I had to weld a reinforcement plate to the tool near the knee before it could be used for its intended purpose. After reinforcement, the tool could position the drill bit without deforming the tool. If welding wasn't practical for me, the tool would be useless. I used this tool with a 6" flexible drill bit and a 1/4" shank. "Shenk was used.)
