The Grit Guard Insert fits in the bottom of your wash bucket and separates the grit from the mitt!. It extracts particles such as dirt, grit and grime from your wash mitt, providing a clean, scratch-free wash mitt every time you go back to the bucket for water. The Grit Guard insert fits a 12 inch diameter bucket. The Grit Guard Washboard Insert extracts even the finest dirt and grit from your wash mitt or brush. Scrubbing your cleaning tool on the Washboard releases trapped particles that scratch your vehicles finish.

If you don't have one buy

I ordered this sand guard after watching the ChrisFix video on YouTube. The protective cover is of good quality. The assembly is firm, which is good in this case. The only thing that can be improved is that it rotates in a bucket when cleaning. I used a short bucket and my free hand to keep the tip from spinning.

Glad I bought it - easy to use and keeps my rag from getting dirty

Very strong part Easy to assemble but mine doesn't always stay connected while using mine wash car Minor problem. It could only be me. It's amazing how much dirt collects at the bottom of the bucket. Good thing it doesn't spin in the water.

Works great but will not fit most 5 gallons.

Works great but won't fit in most 5 gallon buckets. I was able to find a 5 gallon bucket that fit the keeper, but I had to bring the keeper to check if it would fit. I had a blue Lowes bucket. If you buy buckets from "pharmacies", AMMONYC and the like they might fit, but measure before buying a bucket.

Prevents spongy dirt from hitting the car.

The bucket guard removes dirt and stones from the sponge. This avoids scratches on the vehicle paintwork. Before using the bucket protector, my sponge was always black and dirty. If you wipe the sponge up and down, it looks almost new. The dirt is at the bottom of the bucket, not on the sponge or glove.

He owns nine classic expensive cars and cleans them all himself so this was perfect for him

Saw this at ChrisFix and bought it for my dad on Father's Day. Hey has everything under the sun and it's so hard to buy. He owns nine classic and expensive cars and cleans them all himself, so it was perfect for him. He was ticklish and I was so happy to see him happy. We wash cars together sometimes and he always has it in a bucket. Works perfectly.

This is normal for buckets, guards and kits

The Grit Guard broke my bucket. So I used a smaller bucket instead of a 5 gallon bucket because I only have a 5 gallon bucket and used that for the soap and water mix. I mean, I'm glad it protected my paint with it, but I wasn't happy that it broke my other bucket. If you buy this make sure you use a 5 gallon bucket with it and no less. It was a little confusing putting it all together, but after a while I figured it out. (I had to look up some pictures online) The Grit Guard is strong enough…
