Grote 43022 Universal License Bracket Review

I used this license plate bracket to replace the cheap plastic bracket I had on my broken trailer. Hope this one is more durable.

This is a good license plate holder. The steel bracket is fairly detailed but not too strong so you can't bend it if you need to. It is strong enough not to be bent by the wind when moving. This mount is definitely way better than the plastic mount I had before.

I didn't know if it would fit my CB600F but after bending the top of the bracket (to align the holes under the hood) it does fit. I used a vise to bend it and then put the bolts in the holes. The longest part of the process was reinstalling the license plate lights, but with the wiring, that's to be expected. Works great but hangs a little lower than I would like. I don't know if everything comes out of the box, but if you can cut or bend metal you can probably fit it to different bikes or…

In Florida such a 50cc scooter has to be registered as a motorcycle. The TaoTao ATM50-A1 plate mount appears to be configured for a wide Asian license plate and a smaller US license plate will not fit properly in the mount cutouts without modification. But for simplicity, the mounting holes in the Grote 43022 are aligned with two unused cutouts in the center of the TaoTao mounting bracket, requiring a simple drilling of the soft rear fender through the TaoTao bracket and then installing the…
