I read some tips on the internet that helped me! First: Soak it in a cup of water first and then use/dilute it. It penetrates the joints better. What I did was a small area with thinning and then pulled through with full force. And secondly - the tip of the marker can be pulled out and rotated. I used a marker for the bathroom. I bought three for the bathroom and kitchen and am not sure if any of the markers are 100% complete. Two would be good.

These knobs are great. I updated the bathroom grout at home that we just bought. The mortar was once white but looked dirty and impossible to keep clean. Overall SO happy with the changes to our white tile bathroom! Only ONE handle used for the entire bathroom floor and half tiled walls. As others have said, there's a lot you can do to make the coloring process easier. Take the time to refill your pen frequently, vigorous shaking and depressing the tip helps, and most importantly, dipping it in a small amount of water to dilute it makes the process that much easier.
