Used for cream grouting in the kitchen. Very thick joints. Worked well, covered about 100 square meters with no problems. I bought a second pen to finish and touch up the last 20 square feet. The color is definitely dark grey. How I used it: I shook the pencil for about 2 minutes and then placed it in the grout line without moving by pushing it up and down from the top. Until the tip turns gray. Then I made lines 1 foot long in one stroke. The tip is reversible, which is great, but be aware that the pen will fall out if you shake it.
