How do you test wires?

This is copper. Its micro strand offers some flexibility and in my case less voltage drop. It's not a silicone covered wire so it's still a bit stiff but more flexible than a standard primary wire. It comes off easily which can be a problem. I added some shrink tubing to hold it together. If I were going to use it as a jumper I would add heat shrink tubing, rope and more heat shrink tubing.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Reverse print

Great Cable: Automotive Electronics Accessories

Bought this cable to connect a huge LED panel to my tractor. This is a very high quality wire that is easy to work with. Isolation feels great. almost a bit slippery, which helps a lot when pulling through the tractor chassis. I also bought a 3/8" split pipe/conduit/sleeve (whatever you want to call it) to cover and protect the wire that goes perfectly with it.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Some issues

Good flexible thick wire

I'm not sure why "training" is the best option but the sheath is nice and thick so I'm sure you could jump rope if you wanted to! Jokes aside, if you use it to power a JL w7 at 750W RMS, it works perfectly. As flexible as an OFC should be, the rubber sleeve is nice and thick. Good wire and just over $1 a foot, that's a good deal. My only issue is that I thought 10g would be a bit thicker, it's pretty close to 12g so I will order 8g in future.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Some bugs

The 10 gauge is rated for 40 amps and is made of pure copper.

I use this regularly to constantly carry 40 amps in a battery application. The threads are not as thin as others and this is not silicone insulation. This makes it stiffer, but it works great and crimps the plugs well. Good value for money. Very easy to strip with the 10 gauge slot in my Klein stripper (so I don't measure exactly, but that and the fact that it works great with all my 10 gauge crimp connectors is good enough for me). I am using it in a 24V indoor application. I wouldn't…

  • This is great

  • I won't say anything

Does the job

As previously mentioned, this cable has no thickness markings. For the price I can live with that. Both wires have a weird waxy coating around them that makes my self-adjusting wire strippers very difficult to use like sausage casings. I ended up having to use a knife. The strippers continued to slide across the waxy/plastic clear coat making sloppy streaks. Generally, the trailer brake and cables are connected. The wire is very thick and strong. However, I routed it through a protective…

Poor insulation

I bought this product and started installing it in winter. I can only stress that during the installation it was very cold outside, 10f max. So yes, it was really cold. In any case, I'm not sure if it was due to the heat it was exposed to trying to bend and screw it into place, or poor quality material, or both, but the insulation broke on several Make and exposed copper veins. As it is intended for cars I can only assume that it can withstand some movement in extreme temperatures. Anyway…

Pros
  • Ideal for car radio, home theater, 12V cars, amplifier remote control, train model, low voltage LED lighting
Cons
  • Crumpled

Good Material

Good quality, almost feels like silicone or something but I doubt it. Personally, I've used the full length with 30A Anderson connectors on the ends to connect the large battery pack in my truck to the batteries in my camper trailer. Worked great for a 5 day weekend with lots of oven time. Obviously this cable is too thin if I was using an inverter in a trailer or similar. But my inverter is on a truck with a large battery pack. Not that I really use it other than to power Brightech Ambience…
