But works as advertised.

I would give the product 4 stars, but. Photos are misleading. What I received and what I ordered doesn't seem to be the same. The one I ordered shows 2 hex head screws to tighten them while the one I received only had 1. Also, there were no instructions. ok, of course it's not rocket science and if you know the difference between an Allen head and a Phillips head you'll be fine, but that's attention to detail. That being said I seem to be sturdy and I have a couple of lights that need testingโ€ฆ

Perfect fit for my 1 3/4 Hrew bumpers

I was initially put off by some reviews saying they were too loose. When used on a pipe with an actual OD of 1.75", it will fit perfectly. You can really tighten that thing up to keep it from moving. The included plastic sleeve is essential for a secure fit and provides paint protection for your hose. For anyone interested in using this to install a CB antenna. Remember that the antenna mount must be grounded. A plastic grommet prevents earth contact. You can run a dedicated ground wire andโ€ฆ

weak brackets! on Accent & Off Road Lighting

For mounting high beam headlights to 1" ADV motorcycle tubes. Tried a few narrower tube mounts and these have held. The narrower blocks did not have the required base size and they would not do the Create friction needed to prevent slipping Nice finish, hub/clamshell assembly is very solid and two stainless steel pinch bolts For the lights I used any pipe clamp with a bolt to create friction hold don't get stuck they did their job only two minor flaws firstly i wish the corners were softer orโ€ฆ

My new "gait ", glad I found it!

I use them to install extra lighting on my touring bike. I mostly stay on the road, but I also get off on fire roads and the like. And yes I've had a fall since installing these mounts but nothing serious (unless you're on tarmac and don't really drive lol) but they've held up pretty well. I confess I was a little worried they might not last when I bought them. This is by far the best and most reliable tensioning system I've found (and I've tried several different ones). I like the widerโ€ฆ

Great mount!: Off-Road Accent & Lighting

I purchased this mount to install a tusk flag mount on my hang glider. The trike didn't have a suitable place to mount it, so I installed this bracket on the trike frame. In order to mount the catch flag bolt, I had to drill through the cargo bay a bit more. I used a titanium drill and a 3/8" adjustable speed drill. Aluminum drills well and I was able to enlarge the hole slightly. The finished product was completely unaffected by the drilling. I used the spacer that came with the bracket butโ€ฆ

Nice and strong rack mount brackets

After ordering 3 different bracket kits for my Rocky Mount roof basket these GS brackets were the perfect lightweight brackets for my application. Your questions. One of the rear tie rods immediately broke off above the tube and got stuck in a threaded pocket. It took several hours of work to remove it. 50% cleaned of the 4 thread pockets. Most of the Revain's mounts are the same, aluminum, and all threaded pockets are suspect in that regard. While there was an inevitable cleanup, it was easyโ€ฆ

For attaching a two-piece kayak paddle!

I used these to secure my two piece carbon fiber kayak paddle leaving the yak upstream - one on each side of the paddle when split and then the two pieces back to back join together (and on the chain) through pre-drilled holes in each with a traditional padlock. Actually, I will never unlock the padlock. I simply loosen the hex screws and take them off the ends of the blades and then when the blades are done put them back in place and tighten the hex screws again. It is strongly recommended toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Security

First the good: good design, solid aluminum parts. Looks good. Bad: I bought 1.75" clamps to attach the 1.75" tube to my handlebars. With the parts that came with it, even with the screw as tight as possible, there was a noticeable gap (visible light between the inside of the clamp and the tube) and it just rotated freely on the stem. Pictures of this product here on Revain show that it is possible to cut an aluminum drinks can into a strip and use it as a spacer if the clamp is not sufficient.

Pros

Cons
