I don't think that's true Wire #10AWG

Insulation appears to be very thick but conductors appear sparse. I don't have tools to accurately measure wire gauge, but it looks and feels more like #12AWG when you take it off and crimp the connector. Next time I'll look for something better. This is important because I am installing a solar system for our van.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

OK. Not what was expected.

This is not 10 gauge wire. Go to your local hardware store and compare to the 10 gauge stranded wire they sell. The insulation almost doubles the gauge of the wire, plus CCA instead of OFC (which is what's advertised, so no surprise) making it less conductive than expected. Next time I'll buy a few bucks more locally for the real specs.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Decent wire, best for installing amplifiers

I have never used copper coated automotive aluminum wire so only time will tell if it will hold up to my application which is the 12V power cable -Brake control. I used 10 gauge wire instead of 12 gauge wire as the instructions call for. I know from home wiring codes that you must use larger aluminum wire instead of copper wire. I would be careful where I use it as aluminum can corrode causing loss of performance. I would suggest using a good electrical lube on all joints to slow corrosion.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Update available

Ok bought this for a solar panel project. ran the length of the wires. Put them in piping. Then it's time to strip them and connect them to the MC4 connectors. When I strip wires with a 10 gauge wire stripper. I'm still isolated. So I check the sensor with a tool. He shows 12 hectares. So they used extra insulation to make you think it was 10 ga. When it's clearly not there. Being aluminum makes it worse because you reduce the size of amps it can handle. So it's actually more like 13/14 Ga in…

Damaged Roll - Insulation cracks

I've been using these rolls (100ft, red and black) for a month to install my solar panel and carefully position and hide the wiring in the walls. Two days ago I found a "hole" in the insulation, I assumed I had cut the wire with a drill and replaced the segment. When installing the extreme end of a reel today, I found that the "divots" in the insulation were intermittent and regular and had a circumference greater than the size of the reel, indicating it was factory made . Because the setup is…

Don't try to solder it, but crimp connectors are fine.

Good value for money. However, it has strange soldering properties. I do electronics for a living and have soldered some good and bad wires (I use a Weller WES51 at home). I will say that this wire has some of the strangest properties of any wire I have attempted to solder. It will initially absorb solder and get wet. But after that nothing is received. No matter how hot it is, clean it with any flux you like. It looks like with additional heat cycles (e.g. to solder it to another wire)…

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • No auto mode

The name and description are somewhat misleading at best, but are misleading in describing the wire. The wire is actually 12 AWG, not 10 AWG as advertised, it measures approximately 2mm as advertised; wire size 12awg. The wire needs to be about 2.6mm thick to be 10 AWG wire. This is of great importance when calculating the voltage and/or current drop. The insulation is flexible, it feels like silicone, but it's stiff and thick, the OD and markings make the wire look like 10 AWG wire; Again, the
