I travel for coffee, tea and espresso

I needed a good travel solution for coffee. Coffee on the street can be sketchy at best, and the only real option that fits is StarB***, and I'm not a fan. As a coffee snob, I wanted a solution that I could carry in my carry-on along with coffee and co pack, and it works great. I am traveling with hand luggage (21 inches) and a shoulder bag. I can pack it with a week's worth of clothes and all the electronics and the projector. Great tool and easy to use!

No more instant coffee!

Nothing to say other than this item is amazing. I used it a lot when hiking. It's the bomb and the envy of other tourists who don't have it. It's super light. The coffee you sip on a three-day tour will far outweigh the weight of this French press. This might be considered a luxury item for hiking, but I guess it depends on how badly you need a good cup of coffee to start your morning. One of the best gifts my wife has ever given me!

  • Excellent Overall Performance

Good for our camper because it's plastic but leaks when pouring

I use a french press all the time. The one I have at home is stainless steel but I wanted something different for camping so I bought these for our camper. It keeps the liquid warm for a while and is easy to clean, but when I pour the drink into a mug it spills all over the place and I lose some of the drink. I have to wrap my French Press in kitchen paper to keep the mess to a minimum. I'm considering getting another one because it's a nuisance.

Some Significant Design Flaws

I love hiking or french press hiking but this definitely has some design flaws. Pros: - makes a decent amount of coffee - good mesh and metal rod on plunger - light weight - has a comfortable sleeve so the heat doesn't burn your hands. Cons: - the square spout makes pouring almost impossible without boiling coffee running down your sleeve (and pouring all over your face) - the main chamber is made of flimsy plastic which unfortunately breaks on a rough ride - gives the coffee some plastic…

Steinhart in French Presses

I needed a better way to enjoy coffee than using an old coffee maker while camping and this fitted the bill. This is my first French press and I bought a Black Rifle CAF for my first hike. I tried it at home first and made the best coffee I've ever had. No exaggeration, he was so good! He's already done two camping trips and at least 20 coffees at home. I plan on getting a smaller version of Java for commuting to use at home when I'm drinking so I can get rid of my Keurig (although it's nice to

Leave me alone coffee snobs

OK I'll admit I'm a bit of a coffee snob so I hear complaints about the plastic container. But listen to me! Actually I bought it out of snobbery! I love a fresh cup of coffee in a French Press. Your regular glass coffee press isn't very portable, though - pack this baby in your suitcase and you'll likely end up with broken glass everywhere. This product's plastic carafe and soft case have survived several international trips and are still in excellent condition. In addition, the sleeve keeps…

Pretty good at coffee, tea and espresso

I like this product but the flaws I have are not with this product (mostly) but with the french press brewing process. I bought this for low impact camping aka boondocking where there is no access to clean water (I bring water). I follow the procedure and make excellent coffee. used base. If you are in places where there is no running water, you must use what you brought with you. Otherwise you get really good coffee. It tends to ooze a bit when pouring, so pour the coffee into the mug as well…

I bought this for an upcoming hike and now I don't care if I can use it there. I tested it once just to see if it worked, and now it accompanies me to work every day, even as a "cup". It's easy to use, durable, and the thermal protection is amazing. I got the version with the fabric strap instead of the plastic handle and am very happy with it. Easy to use and safe to use in the microwave "with the top clearly removed". But I sold this device and I love it. I add my ground coffee and sugar…
