Used on Sea Buoy Case

I'm sure this is an 'off label' usage but we use a large drift buoy case. One of them has been floating in the Atlantic for over 18 months and as of February 2018 the internal electronics are still fully functional. I also sealed with silicone, but the case is bulletproof.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Fully waterproof and very durable

Nice big box, fully waterproof and buoyant. It even fits in the largest phone, keys, wallet and a few other items. The only caveat is that the locking mechanism is very tight (as it should be to be waterproof) and you need pretty strong fingers to open it.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Modern

A box you can't open is useless

I tried pulling one latch at a time to break the seal and poured hot water on the seals to break it to open. It wouldn't move. I ended up using a thin screwdriver to pry it open and that worked but the plastic broke off. Guess it's my fault and it's still useless.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Good but not great

Product is good but shipping carton size is misleading. (12.5 x 8.6 x 5.4 in; 1.8 lbs) Actual usable interior dimension is 10 x 7.5 x 5 in. My initial goal is to protect navigation books. The product is too small but fits my sextant so I will not be returning it.

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • No automatic

Good quality just a bit overpriced imo

Great box. Exactly what I needed, strong and as advertised. I don't think a pen is needed; but they did a great job in designing it so that it barely affects the overall profile of the box. There is a huge sticker on the top, which should be removed very carefully and slowly so as not to leave any traces. I think some solvents are dissolving the finish of the box.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • No mold required

The box is transparent but not transparent

The supposedly "transparent" box has an odd green tint. I'm going to use it as I planned, as a security camera housing. But my video is colored green. The product description should say "translucent", not "clear". (Looking back, I see the photo looks a bit greenish, but the resulting box is a lot greener.)

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • High price

Superb electronics box for boats

Purchased as a kayak gear to store electronics. As others have pointed out, it was in a deep vacuum when it arrived, although that was in the 90's. You have to turn them off in a very hot factory near sea level. Insert the knife into the slot on the front latch and gently press until air begins to seep in. It's a good size for a DSLR and an extra lens for beachside wildlife photography. Almost transparent with a green tint it's a plus for looking at your phone or GPS without worrying about it…

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Can be damaged
