Nice thick fabric with a slight sheen. Mine look like the photo when done, but it's difficult for one person to tie them evenly. I made four windows in my breakfast nook and now I sit back and take compliments!

You get what you pay for. This is an easy and inexpensive solution if you have a very bright window, especially in the bedroom. Doesn't block light, but rather a slight shading. Too much light comes through the blinds in my bedroom. This shade/curtain helps. The material is light - polyester or viscose - and poorly made. I doubt it has any thermal insulation properties. If you're buying these to spend a lot of time setting them up nicely and then leave them in that position for a long time (no regular adjustments to height or opening) then they are you you ok They are well made with good materials and block the light well. But flipping the fan over when installing it so the arms look nice and even, and then doing it again when adjusting, is pretty cumbersome. I previously bought the standard antique beige style (last photo) which worked great in our old house with large windows but didn't match the window I wanted when we moved in since the window I had it wanted to use in the new house was smaller (see last photo).
