Everything was scratched when unpacking. And the magnet is too strong. This was meant to be a present for a 3 year old boy because he loves to sort things. But I don't give him anything scratched that will agitate him with too strong a magnet.

Pros
  • Robust workmanship
Cons
  • I don't like it that much, it's ok

very cute but difficult for my 3 year old

This is very well done and so many opportunities to learn. I think it's great. The HARD PART is that the magnet is so strong that my grandson gets frustrated trying to move one marble at a time. He often draws several. I hope when he grows up he learns some of the tricks I had to use to rock the balloons to separate them, but it's hard even for this old granny!

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Fun and relaxation for new toys and gags

We have had this toy for 2 years. old, expecting that moving the beads around is fun above all. She loves this toy very much and often plays with it. We also noticed that our 3, 5 and 7 year olds. Older children like to play with it too. Apparently the older ones understand the purpose of the maze better than the younger ones. Even adults in the family play with it a little, it can be strangely relaxing. Obviously, this toy is designed for a wide age group.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Retrofittable

Delighted with this toy and all the playtime it gets!

My 3 year old daughter loves this toy. i love it too! Not only are there no pieces to lose, unlike Lego, but it doesn't hurt to step on them accidentally. It's also very durable! Every little child who comes to our house and notices this toy plays with it. It's so easy and fun to play at the same time. Quiet, portable, and large, this toy helps toddlers develop fine motor skills, colors, counting, logic, and planning.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Not good for a 2 year old

I bought this for my 2 year old's birthday. I liked the different colors and animals in the design. My 2 year old cannot successfully pull balls with a magnetic pen. I feel like the pen needs to be a stronger magnet as the two year old's hand-eye coordination is still developing. After just a few minutes of play, he gets frustrated because he can't keep his hands on the ball so easily. Hopefully as he gets older he can play with him more. Also, after about 2 months of not using it, I noticed…

Doesn't work as well as it looks

I was disappointed with this product. I have one from Hape (turtle) and I love it and jumped to give it to my 2 year old as he blew the other one. I thought this would be a good way to get numbers but the toy doesn't work as well as I had hoped. Here is the main disadvantage. The magnets in the balls are too strong, causing more than one ball to move at a time. This is very frustrating for my son (and me!) as he tries to move one color at a time. (I tested it with another one from Hape and the…

Watch out/skip if your child has trouble holding small pencils/crayons.

I am a fan of HABA products but this one is a big disappointment. Just bought this for my son with dyspraxia/holding/grip issues. He is developmentally delayed and finds it difficult to hold *SMALL* pencils or crayons, although he does better with longer pencils/pens. When I ordered this item, I didn't realize that the magnetic stick that the child uses to push the balls into the holes is SMALL. My son is very frustrated that he can't hold a wand to use it properly. A real long pencil sized pen
