Description of Habitech 2-Pack Barbed Tubing for Lines

Important: Be sure to check the sizes and buy the right valve. This 13mm ball valve works with 1/2" tubing with 0.520 Inside Diameter (ID). If you need valves for 1/2" drip irrigation tubing, which has a larger inside diameter .570 to .620, then select the 16mm size valve. Complete Flow Control: 1/2-inch inline ball valves (2 Pack) are the perfect way to regulate the water flow of your aquarium, aquatic or hydroponic systems with a simple turn of the knob. Slip your tubing onto the barbed ends of this shut-off valve coupling to control, disperse, slow, divert or completely stop water flow. Fully Adjustable: Adjust the flow anywhere from full-open to full-stop. Easy to install and use with clear on and off markings. Compactly sized and smooth to turn, these quality acetal barb ball valves won't stick like PVC ball valves. Versatile: Customize a secondary water zone, create individual dripline control, use as tank valves, drain valves, return valves or in any situation where fluid restriction is needed. For use with aquarium plumbing, pump return line, canister filter, protein skimmer, calcium reactor, phosban reactor, saltwater applications, RV camper and trailers, pex tubing, hydroponics, aquaponics, etc. Leak-Free Seal: These non-corrosive plastic flow valve fittings are guaranteed to provided a secure, watertight connection that handles an operating pressure of up to 45 PSI. Constructed to be heat, chemical and wear-resistant assure long term reliability of connections. Confidently install these barbed fittings without clamps by using our Valve Sizing Chart (see photo) to get the perfect fit. Match the ID (Inner Diameter) of your hose or tube with the acceptable IDs listed on the chart.

Acetal dissolves in chlorine/bromine in spa - PVC must be used

Installed two of these valves in my spa to isolate the bromine electrolyser circulation pump, heater and water circuit. In less than a year, the plastic tips degraded to paper thickness, began to leak, and simply disintegrated with the force closing the valves. I had to get chunks out of a falling water pipe to insert PVC nipples. Now I'm wondering if what I thought was black algae in the bath is a deposit of dissolved acetal. They may be great for watering, but not for your hot tub!

Perfect for adjusting flow in a reef tank

I needed to resize the pipe to pan around my reef tank and needed a ball valve to adjust or stop the flow. Due to the delicate nature of the aquarium I must have plastic valves and there seemed to be no stores in town that had plastic ball valves. I liked that I could get two packs as I could keep a spare or use it for something else. I hooked it up to a 1400 GPH drain pump so it can handle high pressure without leaking. It's also easy to set up, by simply turning the knob I can partially or…

Great Flow Valve! Well done. It's a little fiddly to turn the knob now, but it doesn't get in the way, at least for my application. Remember this is made for water irrigation, no gasoline or other chemicals. fail! The other thing is the notch protruding too far from the diameter of the tube which after this stretch is 19mm slightly larger than the 3/4 OD for 3/4 ID clear vinyl tubing. This is what I used and I need to file a tenon for easy assembly and disassembly. No experience with the black…
