I love our Hale! Best for doors, gates and ramps

I love this pet door. Very durable and reliable. We installed this professionally at a local company that only installs Hale pet doors. Note that this door is quite small, so be sure to check the specs!

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Modern

Excellent quality and abrasion resistance.

Excellent door. For those who have complained that the sashes are not durable. You have ordered a door that is too high or installed a door. Too low. These doors are of excellent quality. Be sure to measure your dog and place the door at the correct height for comfort and durability.

  • Quality construction

Insufficient valve life

Valves could not last more than a year. I will clarify this opinion. Have two very strong field jumpers. The vinyl flap starts to crack at the top after about ten months. About a hundred dollars/shutter adds up. The flaps will probably last four or five years if you have a medium-paced dog. The door offers excellent weather protection even at -30 °F and wind.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • No instructions

Nice doors but the chemical smell is overwhelming.

Installed on the outside wall of the first floor bathroom. Really high quality product that would get all but one 4-5 stars. I've had them for 4 months now and they still don't burn. In fact, they smell so chemically that I still have to open the window a little, even when it's 100 degrees outside! I don't recommend this until they move on to new material.

Solid workmanship, worth every penny.

I looked around for a long time before I came across Hale's pet doors. Our original door lasted 10 years but we moved and it stayed in the house. At first I was concerned that air would seep through the thick plastic vents from both the outside and inside, so I lit an incense stick and the air wouldn't come out in any direction. Just head and shoulders above what's on the market. We just bought a second one direct from Hale - they offer a 10% discount for regular customers and a 10% charity…

I have owned Hale Small Door for over 10 years.

I have owned a small Hale door for at least 10 years. A contractor installed it in my Florida apartment building. The house had been rented for a while when I moved in and my renter had and used Chihuahuas (eventually had 4). There are 2 large, thick, transparent rubber magnets. Flaps that protect against insects and hot and cold air. I removed the outer flap the longest to help the cats use the door as they did. I lost this flap and had to replace it with my nose. Rather than removing the…
