I bought it a size 22" and my dog has a neck size 19". I was concerned after reading some of the reviews maybe it was the wrong size but it fits her well on the penultimate hole and the skin is thick strong and it's a really nice collar. So I'm giving this collar a 3, don't get me wrong. I like him a lot and he's well built and I think he'll last. I read some of the recent reviews and they all said to go up a size. So I did. My dog has a 16" neck. I ordered a 20" to make sure we had room. Well my beagle is getting a new collar as this 20" collar fits my alaskan husky just about the last hole. I have purchased five of these collars for rescue cats ranging in size from 12 to 16 pounds. They're just cats inside. The hole closest to the end is perfect for all but the biggest cat and we had to add an extra hole. When we pre-measured their necks, they measured between 10 and 10 1/2 inches. It's a bit stiff and needs breaking in. Looks beautiful. Black leather looks good on my auburn bulldog. He'll get used to it. The skin seems to be sufficient. The stitching is as you would expect on a dog collar. It was difficult to dress my dog because he is stiff and he was curious and squirming.
