Hamilton Rhinestone 8 Inch 10 Inch Safety Review

Completely disappointed. We have a collar very similar to this one. Unfortunately, the embellishment is not positioned correctly and is not at the nape of the neck as it should be, but shifted to the side almost under the chin, completely negating the whole peak of the shiny collar. although the color is great.

This is a very nice collar but it didn't last long. Our 3 year old cat (5.5kg) who was playing with our French Pug puppy (6.5kg) ended up breaking the little elastic piece inside him. I didn't think it would break like that. I thought it would stretch and allow her to escape without choking. This can work well for a cat that doesn't play hard.

ATTENTION! The description says 10 inches. It's clearly 9 inches. Sounds petty, yes, but when you're dealing with a small pet, a missing inch makes a world of difference. I bought this to replace the current one we have from the same company (wear and tear just needed a new one) and couldn't figure out why it would fit any other way and in fact I got a tape measure and it's a whopping 9 inches! Grrr.

It was on the last hole to make it as big as possible and yet it barely fit my adult cat who weighs about 13 pounds. My kitty finally figured out how to take it off and after spending the whole night outside it shrank. I guess because it got a little wet from the morning dew. Not the collar's fault, but after that I had to throw it away. The only reason it gets 2 stars is because it was cute for a month or two and then the jewels started to fall off.

This collar is well tolerated by my indoor cat and seems strong enough for everyday wear. I recommend measuring your cat's neck before choosing the collar size you want, as this is difficult to measure. My cat is an adult cat and I thought she needed a 12" collar but it was too big and I had to exchange it for a 10" collar. Collar when the bell is in the middle of the neck. Rhinestones are always on my cat's neck, not her back.

As a former vet and owner of four kittens who frolic in our cat fenced yard, I understand the importance of my cats wearing tags and also wearing a collar they can escape from if they can ever escape became addicted to anything. Unfortunately, the newer "quick/snap" types come loose so easily that we keep losing them as we play and replacing them with lost ones in our bushes etc. i.e. The bow is for no purpose and the rhinestone bow is very adorable on our kitty. Holds up well and sits well!

I think the collar is so cute and it matched my cat's color very well. I have some rhinestone letters spelling his name and a small rhinestone cat paw that goes around his collar to make him more stylish. I thought it was great that the collar matched his personal letters. Less than two days after I put it on my cat I saw him shuffling around on the kitchen floor like he was chasing something. I looked, expecting to see something I might accidentally and deeply drop, and lo and behold I found the bell off his new collar!
