So happy I found this replacement remote from Zon. Our old remote control was over 20 years old. No more holding buttons like they owe you money. The shortcut key stopped working at all. This is a replacement for my original remote control. Worked immediately after putting the battery in! I like colored buttons because they help you remember what the button is used for. I wasn't quite sure if this remote would actually work to replace my broken Hampton Bay ceiling fan remote. Every description I've read says you should get an "identical looking" remote like your current one in order for it to work. However, I couldn't find it anywhere. That was the closest I got. Our old Hampton Bay remote finally broke, it was in pretty sad condition, battery cover missing, countless trips to the floor or lost behind the bed. This is actually higher quality than the one that came with our fan. It has internal DIP switches so I can only assume it will work with a few models or homes with multiple fans, but it worked for us out of the box.
