DOES NOT WORK - Welding and Soldering

Spot weld holder was out of tolerance and did not hold spot welds. I machined a new tip out of copper, the welder made 6 welds at a time and still managed to tear off the strip. After I contacted the seller, they recommended watching the video guide I made, but the processing error was not fixed and the welder was still bad, I had to return it. Thank you Revine.

For $100. it was almost a keeper!

Easy to use according to decoding instructions. Areas and thicknesses were documented. The illumination under the welding contacts was good in poor lighting conditions. Mine was dropped by the shipping company, could that be why the welds didn't match and the dial was attached to the case at the top when rotated. This unit requires a special 40 amp switch, which was a disadvantage as I only have it in the basement for the washing machine. Wanted to return and exchange but sold out.

A good welder *if* you're willing to make some improvements

I bought this welder to replace some 18650 batteries. With the nickel strips that came with it, it could barely weld at the highest settings out of the box. I've heard the 220v version works better, but this 110v version is marginal. So I searched "Sunkko 737g Spot Weld Modification" on YouTube and found the "City Viking" video very helpful.
