The box was opened immediately even though there were enough reagent packs. Not sure if it was a demo model or something like that. It's almost impossible to get everything in one bottle, it's not clear how important it is to make sure every grain gets there. I'll look at a little mini funnel or something. You can't follow the directions and use a bottle, run it as C1, THEN mix the reagent. The device switches off automatically before this time and aborts the test. You should have one bottle…

Pros
  • One-button control for easy operation
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Works well! for testing, measuring and inspecting

We are having problems with iron from our well, both FE+2 and FE+3, and iron bacteria. So not only do I have to chlorinate the well twice a year, I also have to constantly check that the iron filter is doing its job. I have previously used a test kit that uses a similar reagent that turns the sample orange. They then compare it to a color chart. The problem is that there were only 5 reference colors in the kit for 0.3, 0.5, 1, 3 and 5ppm. It's very hard to see exactly what you have, it's enough

Pros
  • Uses the EPA 315 phenanthroline method, a reaction that produces an orange coloration in the sample
Cons
  • Not sure

This little thing has helped my aquaponic system to grow green and lush plants. The measured values deviate from each other by a few hundredths, but this is completely sufficient for my needs. The only negative I have to say is that they don't come with many powder sachets and a third bottle would be great. Updated 09/27/16. A Hanna representative unexpectedly contacted me a few weeks ago to see if my checker was working properly and if I needed any additional reagents. I didn't realize that…

Pros
  • The device can be calibrated with water without purchasing additional solutions
Cons
  • Disappear
