Red Auxiliary Wire Not Working

Installed on my 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic. Like some of the reviews that mentioned it, the accs red wire doesn't work. This is used for the ignition system to turn the radio on and off with the key. I had to run my own wire from the fuse box and tape it over the broken wire.

Carefully! Requires optional interface for 2001 to present models

Entire wiring harness works as described. However, if your vehicle is from the early 2000's or later, you will need an additional interface part to make it work with an aftermarket radio. I didn't know that and had to buy the interface separately. So when shopping, keep in mind whether your car needs an extra part.

Does not match description Vehicle

I am sure this would be a good wire harness if they had the correct description of the vehicles it works with. I purchased this item, took it to Best Buy Automotive and when they took out my factory stereo to install my aftermarket stereo, they found that this item did not fit the 2006 Chevy Cobalt as stated in the description. Wiring implants are the complete opposite of factory wiring implants.

My thoughts are waiting!

I will edit my review when I actually install it. I'm a fairly knowledgeable girl who can do a few things myself that many would pay someone else to do. I don't know exactly how I missed this, but I don't think I need to repin the wires that don't coordinate with the factory connector. If that were the case, I'd find a fork and go work on it rather than looking for one that costs no more than my Nox or the stereo I'm installing.

Things You Should Know 👍

Like other reviews, my red power wire was not working. In fact, if you read the description it says that the power cord doesn't work if you have an OnStar. The simplest solution I found to this problem was to connect the power wire from the ignition to the main power supply with an easily accessible fuse that was easily plugged in under the steering wheel. I would suggest using a wire harness cover to make sure it doesn't fray or short out. Also, with some stereo systems you should not use the…
