Harris SCPF4 Clean Paste Soldering Review

Excess melts so no cleaning. Mandatory for StayBrite #8 and Sweatlines. The replacement lines held 150psi for 24 hours and pulled 72 microns while the pressure was held below 600 for 30 minutes.

I have used this with a Stay Brite 8 to install new wiring harnesses on a new R410a central air conditioning unit. Used gas card and TS8000. Pressure test with nitromethane at 200psi and hold overnight. I pulled it down to 150 microns and then filled it to spec and it works fine. I've missed all joints with Cal Blue Plus, no leaks.

Using this flux with "Ha Sta Brite 8 1/8" 1#10009 (348-SB861)" (damn expensive Sb/Ag solder but worth it for battery cables and offline inverters) works great Just make sure you use it sparingly (very) if you are using 1/0, 2/0 stranded copper wires with copper ring terminals with a propane gas Clean (or OA) flashlight as there is a "bubble" at the bottom of the connector.The brush is not strong enough to withstand the dipping and sealing of the glass (the fan inflates where the brush almost…

Love this pasty formula, no spills. And the lid is difficult to remove like my other fluxes. The size/color fits in my stuffed bag. Most importantly, the ($) worktypes use this. Harris' plain text instructions (on the website and on the bottle) were new! Looks like you know you're talking to a newbie. Using a brush (safety) to reach spots was new (old finger style). More confidence in my plumbing projects with my endless renovations.

I can't stress this enough. Because I stupidly learned the hard way. Wear a MASK and in a well-ventilated area! I have chemical pneumonia with a temperature of 103 and my lungs are full of fluid. It happened twice in exactly the same way so I know it's the result of soldering! I've learned my lesson, so please don't scold me. After a lot of research this worked very well to replace the compressor on the fridge as I didn't have the equipment to solder the connections properly.
