Seems like a great hope of never using

. All I can tell you is that it is very easy to use. We haven't checked yet as our house hasn't caught fire yet. I think everything will be fine, but I can't say anything about durability or stability yet. I opened it up and it seems very easy to use. I'm not really looking forward to testing it.

Pros
  • . Price
Cons
  • . Some small things.

It seems that the quality is suitable for extension ladders

This is a very nicely packaged fire escape. Supplied in a slim zip case in a box. Not the best case but looks better than most when not in use. However, we have to return this item as my kids are too heavy to pick it up and fix it in the window. Appears to be a high quality product.

Pros
  • . Understood!
Cons
  • There are nuances

Hazardous Handling - AVOID

Product is hazardous. I'm an athlete, martial artist, construction worker, etc. and I'm used to getting along with everything. It had razor sharp edges and is bulky - it's definitely NOT safe for humans. I cut my arm severely while unpacking. it didn't require stitches, but almost did. How the hell this passed quality control I don't understand.

Pros
  • Quality construction

Set up randomly during test

Instructions recommend testing the ladder without actually deploying the ladder. When I tried to attach the ladder to my window, the ladder opened by itself (the steps slipped out of the harness). This is not good as it is meant to be used only once (for the actual emergency). Also, I live in an old house with thick walls and the ladder can't be wide enough to attach to the window. So this staircase is not suitable for me anyway.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Only in emergencies!

After looking at other escape stairs I bought this one from Hausse, it fits perfectly on the windowsill in our upstairs bedroom, the strap design is well stitched and secured. However, as another reviewer pointed out, the aluminum standoffs that lie next to the house have very sharp edges, I had to go through them one at a time with a wire brush to remove anything that might cut into the skin. this is probably typical for every rope ladder. Overall I'm very happy I bought this emergency ladder,

Pros
  • Test results consistent
Cons
  • Defects present
