Best Brake Pads in the Brake Pad Category

I've used these metal (not ceramic) brake pads for years and they provide excellent stopping power. The only downside is the amount of dust they produce, but they're worth it. You will not be disappointed.

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging

Excellent! on brake pads

I always use these brake pads on my 2002 Toyota Highlander. It takes a lot. I have to use the brake a lot for work every day so I literally eat all the brake pads. This is the one that lasts longer and doesn't make that horrible noise.

Pros
  • Hands free operation

Great pads for 2005 TSX

Very happy with these pads on my 2005 TSX. Significant improvement in stopping power and durability compared to Acura brake pads on a car. On my second set in over a year with no problems. I have not installed any other pads on this car.

Great pillows! - Spares

These brake pads are fantastic. They bite well but don't stick when first applied or applied with care. They produce quite a bit of dust, but that's to be expected with this type of pad. They installed quickly and easily. I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Not everything fits

The rear brake pads only lasted a year and a half.

Purchased in January 2011, now the mechanic has told me I need to replace the rear brake pads. OEM lasted from 2004 (new) and I've never been a great driver, not to mention the less than 4 mile daily commute ;) . I'm going back to OEM, especially for the price.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • old

Great brake pads!

This product is more expensive for brake pads but still cheaper than Autozone or O'Reily. The brake pad bites when you need it and doesn't twitch when you step on the brakes lightly. I recommend this over OEM. It's nice to have stopping power when your car is loaded!

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Damaged

Where is the equipment needed?

Like most pads, the pressed steel base plate is heavily powder coated. Due to the powder coating and the rough, fuzzy edges of the stamped backing plate, the pads will not fit properly on the caliper. If you can attach them, they certainly won't slide or float as intended. This leads to premature pad wear. To fix this you need to use a flat file or find a way to smooth out those edges. Also, the pads don't come with pads or springs for the rear pads, so you'll need to buy one or use…

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Finish
Cons
  • Legacy Model

Brake Dust Accumulation

This is the second time I have installed them on the front wheels of an Acura TL 2000. I use these pads with ATE rotors on Michelin all-season tires. The brakes work very well and over the course of using these pads I have never noticed any deterioration in them. Between the last time and the last install, the pads lasted me about 15,000 miles. (Note: last time I rolled the pads metal on metal). With that in mind, I can say that 14,000 miles is a good estimate. Over time, a significant amount…
