F150 great aftermarket product

Decided to DIY front brakes on my 2008 F150. Even as a beginner, each side took about 30 minutes. The pads fit perfectly and I followed the instructions that came with them and the brakes are great. Braking performance and handling are noticeably improved compared to the OEM. So I did the job the dealer wanted to do for 300 in about an hour and $70. Very satisfied and you can definitely tell they are of high quality.

Pros
  • GOLS Certification
Cons
  • Compatibility

Great stopping power when needed

I run them in a '06 F-150 Supercrew with a 6ft bed and 20" chrome wheels (heavier than stock). Rush hour daily 14 miles on the Autobahn, so improved brakes for quick stopping in surrounding traffic are a MUST. Help with braking distance The only downer is significantly more brake dust compared to factory pads, but I think it's worth it.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something

then took the recommended break at

When changing the pads, the rotors must be turned or replaced. I replaced both rotors and pads, then did the recommended break-in and the pads are as quiet as a church mouse. Well, maybe not that quiet, but I can't hear anything. Don't expect to put new pads on an old rotor and get great results. that will not do. That's why Hawk told the other reviewer to bend down. Put new pads on an old rotor that hasn't been rotated, you will hear noise and feel less power than a new one.

squeaky and bad tech support

I bought it and installed it professionally. Soon the brake pads were squeaking. I called the Hawk and they told me they had been installed incorrectly and broken in incorrectly. I went back to the mechanic and followed Hawk's advice exactly to fix the problem. The problem continued. I called Hawke back and they told me there was nothing more they could do to help. I said there must be some sort of guarantee on their pads as I've only ridden them a few hundred miles. They said squeaky pads are…
