Hawkwell Little Boys' Outdoor Ankle Hiking Shoes Review

I bought two pairs of these for my kids to wear to the state park at the weekend. We went for a little walk in the woods, nothing crazy. Both pairs had very minor construction issues that did not affect the shoe's performance in any way. They held up, the kids liked them and found them comfortable and I didn't spend enough to be sad when they outgrew them. They were perfect for what we needed them for.

As previous reviewers have said. My child hates these shoes because his feet are easily tied together and he trips. I will not buy these again nor will I recommend them to anyone.

daughter loves these! They cover well and are comfortable. She also likes the looks/colors and is picky. I don't know how waterproof they are yet, but they withstand the heat of the fire stepping on hot coals and rocks and they protected them well.

My 8 year old daughter loved these backpackers. They are comfy and cute! I didn't expect them to be as strong and durable as quality hiking boots, but for what we're going to do, and their age and continued growth, they're great!

Great price especially for kids shoes as they grow up fast. Lightweight so your feet don't get tired. I recommend. Shoes are not suitable for all kinds of terrain!

The fit is good, the appearance is nice, but the lace hook is broken on one boot. This is very important for ankle support. Other reviews said the same thing, thought I'd give it a try but part broke off before our first hike. These return.

Sturdy, comfortable and great quality! They stayed almost new on all the hikes we've done during the pandemic! Highly recommended.

Perfect fit, fairly waterproof to full submersion but they still dry very quickly. Super comfy, my son loves it! Easy to put on and take off, thanks to the convenient lace-up closure that ensures a secure fit!

The outsole material isn't as thick as it might seem. So if you live where there are bush stickers, they will go through the shoe and pierce your child's foot.

The hook came off when my daughter first wore/hiked these shoes. I have read other reviews on the same subject. I'll listen more carefully next time.

These hiking shoes were perfect for my granddaughter's first hike. Good lugs on the outsole for good traction with a flexible sole.

The shoelaces are very long and must be cut off, otherwise they will get caught on other shoe hooks and the child will trip. The shoes are also very big. I ordered a size 2 in skechers and a size 2 in this and my daughter swam in it while the skechers were fine.

Well made but smaller than expected. I was hoping my son would grow up in them but they fit perfectly and he will soon outgrow them.

These are shoes. I was looking for walking shoes, which are basically tennis shoes with a higher ankle. The bottom is foam (like Skechers), not rubber. They feel slippery and have very little grip. I wouldn't be happy with them as tennis shoes either, but they are absolutely NOT suitable for hiking.

These shoes are very durable and my daughter loved wearing them but she tripped a couple of times due to the hook on the outside of the shoe. Now they just sat on my shoe rack because my daughter doesn't want to hurt her knee again.

The son flew out of the last pair. I ordered the same but bigger. My son pointed out that one of the lace hooks was loose and fell off trying to tighten it. Alao size was too big (not 1/2 size). returned for a refund with no problems.

Rated it 4 out of 5 because the shoe lace latch broke before I put the shoes on. Otherwise very comfortable and helps with my hikes.

These shoes are very light but appear to be well put together. My boy loved her style and looks. He also hates heavy, bulky regular shoes. The lightness of these shoes made him very happy.

Excellent customer service, I really appreciate that they are actively addressing my issue by looking through my comments on the defective item I received. Kudos to customer service.

The shoes are very cute, but that's about it. My daughter had ulcers on both ankles from the sharp edges of her shoes after walking. We missed the return window and are now stuck in junk she can't wear without injury. Don't waste money.
