Easy Installation: Internal Optical Drives

The resulting drive does not look like the photo on the website. It is supposed to support BDXL and M-Disk, the photo shows it all on one DVD tray. My hard drive shows Super Multi. It comes without documentation so I don't know what features it has. It has the same model number as listed on the website. Aside from the fact that the drive plays the Blu-ray disc very well, I whisper quite well. The price for all advertised features is very snappy.

Pros
  • Regular Price
Cons
  • Waiting Too Long

Won't play Blu-ray via VLC without hacking

I don't know what to think except that this product was a waste of my time and money. If I need PowerDVD or CyberDVD to play Blu-ray on this device, why should I buy this device? This device does not support plug and play codec. In other words, I have to work to make up for what this device lacks. Don't buy this. Please.

Pros
  • Sturdy design
Cons
  • Really don't like it, everything is fine

Plug and play, very easy installation

Comes with a SATA power extension cable and a SATA interconnect cable which are not expected but are a nice bonus. Worked right away in my new PC build. It's good when you know what you're doing.

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Not the best

Don't wait to try the technology

Due to COVID-19 issues I was only able to fully test the drive a day after my return was no longer accepted. And of course the drive doesn't work. Windows reports that the drive is installed and working properly, but no drive is recognized, blank, or commercial. Several attempts were made with several different plates of different types. Nothing. screwed 5* for easy installation. Once I figured out how the front of my PC was coming loose, the old drive slipped out and the new drive slipped in…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance

  • Not everything fits

Overall good speed and writing process. May work with better drivers.

Overall good writing speed and processing. Able to work with better drivers instead of relying on built-in Windows drivers. The drive is not included, just the drive, sata cable and 4 mounting screws if required. Pros: Works great at read and write speeds. The noise level is low, you can't really hear it, only a couple of times if you really listen. Cons: Crashes every now and then. This means it won't read as a Blu-ray writer/reader. But it behaves as if it were a regular CD drive. (To fix…

Does NOT support 4k (UHD) discs

The manufacturer said it supports 4k (UHD) discs. IT IS NOT. I returned the disc for a full refund. FYI, this is an LG WH16NS48 drive. From the Revain Q&A for this disc: Q: It says 4k ultra ha uhd but at that price I'm not sure if there is any help before I buy it? Answer: It can support 4K Bluray. Solid Blu-ray drive

Update: It's September 2020 and it looks like the drive is completely dead after 15-16 months of heavy use. I will buy another one but I think I'll look for more durable options first. Still great value for the price. I need a Blu-ray drive to digitize my movie collection and this has proven to be an inexpensive but effective option. I ended up putting this thing through a fairly extensive gauntlet of continuous MKV recordings. He handled everything I threw at him and then he laughed in my…

Used burner sold as new

Preserved and installed. I haven't read Blu Ray. But I would read Blu-Ray R discs. I wanted to change the region code in the properties and couldn't. Was useless in Region 2. Did a little research. For regional free burners, you have five times to change the code, and the fifth time it becomes standard and permanent. So they sold me a used device. Not cool. Beware of this seller. fraudulent practices.

No 4K UHD Drive in Computer Components

One star for inaccurate product description. I was surprised to see a $70 4K disc, but as I suspected, it's not a 4K disc. Works well with regular Blue Ray.
