I had to replace a very similar ladder that is over 20 years old. I needed a sturdy ladder with a tool/paint box and a high handle (an important safety feature to avoid falls). I was amazed at how difficult it was to find a ladder with these two important features. The fact that it will carry up to 500 pounds. is a bonus. The old one only supported 250 pounds. and spent when my handyman used it. Luckily he wasn't hurt. I don't have to worry about what that someone is giving away!

While the stairs are fine. It serves the purpose for which I bought it. It takes up very little space. Easy to fold and durable. Assembly was difficult as the screw holes did not line up well. And to tighten a screw, you had to use both hands at the same time. I spent most of the build time removing the screws that kept falling to the ground. I bought this 3-leg ladder to replace an old 2-leg ladder with no handles and railings. My new ladder is strong, stable and reliable. This is a great ladder for any situation where you will be standing on it for any length of time. The steps are very wide, so your legs won't get strained if you have to stand on the stairs to work. There is also plenty of texture on the surface to prevent slipping or slipping. This is a great security feature. My only real criticism of this ladder is that it is difficult to assemble. The only parts you need to attach are the top handle and the tool tray. Unfortunately they are not easy. The handle is VERY thick. I had to tap both sides to get them all the way down. Then the screws are very short and very difficult to hold tight.
