bad product bad quality control

After installation the wiring harness worked as advertised but a few nights ago I was driving home around 10pm and my headlights went out. I had to travel 5 miles to avoid danger as my only source of light. There aren't many street lights where I live. Upon inspection, I found that one of the connections the manufacturer is responsible for had loosened and loosened while driving. These are all labels with a tick. I recommend staying away from this product. Even without bad assembly, the wires…

Easy Install LED Headlight Wiring Harness for 1992 Toyota Pickup Truck

I was able to install this new LED Headlight Wiring Harness in about 15 minutes. The new headlights required dual hot/single ground, the opposite of Toyota's setup. I used the passenger side light to connect the wire harness as it is closest to the battery and you need to connect the positive wire to the battery. I routed the wiring harness for another light between the radiator and the radiator grille. Two screws in the case to attach (and ground) the relay and you're done. All plugs and…

Safety hazard, spend your money elsewhere

For $25 I wasn't expecting much but this harness was still disappointing. After reading the reviews I realized I would need to lengthen the 12v power cable to fit my Jeep YJ. After installing the wire harness, I made a cut to extend the power wire. Here I discovered that the wire used was of much smaller gauge than it appeared. It's mostly insulation and the stranded wire is in no way suitable to work with the 30 amp fuse also included in this kit. I now have an altered wiring harness that…

Normal light! Underrated

I just bought a very nice 1987 Toyota 4runner. You have a reverse light installation. It wreaks havoc with modern headlight upgrades like H4 or LED bulbs. This pendant healed me instantly! I now have brighter low beams with factory sealed headlights and tomorrow I will install my new headlights with H4 bulbs on one side to see the difference. It was as easy as it gets. Direct battery connections with fused wiring, factory headlight wiring on passenger side after removal from factory headlight…

Better quality than comparable harnesses

Purchased and Putco H4 harness. It's much better, with a few minor differences. Advantages: - battery cables protected by a fuse (Putco has no fuse) - headlamp connectors are ceramic (Putco connectors are plastic) - easily accessible standard relays are used (Putco relays are hard to find locally) - it will take 80- A relay used (probably too much) (Putco relays are rated for 30A) - the wire harness is encased in a heavy duty black wire harness with detachable wires (Putco uses a reflective…

Not built safe enough. Mine came with two defective relays, missing parts.

I bought two sets of these straps. Both relays do not have a jumper on the same harness, which is very important for long-term operation. It is essentially a thick wire that provides the main transmission of electricity to the relay. Without it I don't think the relay can handle that many amps or long term use. Virtually nothing in these harnesses is protected from the elements. Don't be surprised if years later your headlights suddenly go out at night. If you know what you're doing, it's not…

Pros
  • High test results for grip and durability
Cons
  • Out of style

got this for 89 jeep wrangler yj. Installation was easy except there weren't enough wires to reach the battery post. I had to add a section or it wouldn't reach the headlights. When I turned on the headlights, only the high beams worked, not the low beams. I checked all cables for continuity, power and ground were fine, there were no problems with the ground. It wasn't the relay, it was the wiring harness. I would go back but had to cut the power cord to extend it. I reconnected my original…

87 Jeep Cherokee XJ - works great.

Installed on a 1987 Jeep Cherokee XJ. Works perfectly. Due to the limited space, the installation took about an hour. I had an issue with headlights flickering/not working - searching the web showed me this was a classic full amp headlight switch. I replaced the switch but also read and with one of these kits wanted to run the amps to the relay so it wouldn't melt again that after replacing the switch it was clear that this wasn't the first time this problem had occurred. on this vehicle. The…

Warning: poor workmanship and potential fire hazard!

You can read the ads that repeatedly claim that this harness will fix weak headlight problems, so I needn't repeat myself. but I would like to know how this is achieved if the wire used is actually LESS than the standard wire?!? What does that even improve if there is actually only ONE headlight connected to the relay? See photos now. 1) Wires seem adequately crimped, although the connector is actually too small for this application. 2) Oh look! NO WIRE WILL BE CUT FROM THE END. It was the same
