Excellent jacket. I have recently traveled across Europe including the UK and have experienced everything from fog to heavy rain on a number of occasions. Although I could feel the moisture, the moisture never penetrated the jacket. The hood works well and is adjustable to minimize wind and/or rain ingress. The inner breast pocket closes with Velcro and the outer pockets never get water. The mesh lining works well in warm weather by keeping the outer shell away from the skin and minimizing heat

This is a great jacket, feels smooth, has excellent waterproofing and breathability. It has a good fit, a small waist, plenty of shoulder room, mesh on the inside so it doesn't touch the skin, but smooth sleeves that are easy to put on and take off. This rain jacket from Helly Hansen is waterproof and lightweight as advertised but not particularly breathable. However, with a waterproof case this can be unavoidable and the water repellency is why I bought this to replace one from another manufacturer that was never truly waterproof from a known catalogue. A light fleece will do for most Portland weather conditions. At temperatures above 40 degrees, the light fleece offers exactly the wind and weather protection I need.
