Don't buy if they are from China or Japan only if they are from Germany

Very disappointing. I have a wonderful set of grips and they are forged in Germany. I love her. It came and it's from China. Far from quality they will never ship a knife with a damaged handle from a factory in Germany.

Pros
  • COMFORTABLE GRIP: Modern three knob design, curved for comfort
Cons
  • No paint required

The perfect bread knife

This is certainly not a top-of-the-line Zwilling-Henckel knife, but it is very sharp and durable, does the job well and is good value. it's impossible to win. I'm a bit of a knife snob (my chef's knife is a Zwilling M66), I've lowered my standards for something as mundane as a bread knife, but I have no regrets. She neither.

Pros
  • QUALITY MANUFACTURE: Made from high quality German stainless steel. Stainless steel tip with embossed logo - stylish and durable
Cons
  • Not as good as it says

WOW! This is a great knife

Bought this knife to replace our old Henckels bread knife and found it to be an upgrade. We bake a lot of bread and it's often crunchy but soft on the inside. This makes it "squishy" when you cut it open. With this knife, we don't put any pressure on it, we just "saw". It cuts cleanly, effortlessly and without damaging the bread in any way. I highly recommend this knife.

Pros
  • Metal lid with JA Henckels International logo
Cons
  • Hard to tell

An excellent bread knife and a great gift for bread lovers

I was really surprised at how well this knife cuts bread. The knife is thin and the 8 inch length is just right for slicing buns/sandwiches. I use it to slice homemade crusty sourdough breads with ease. I'm actually planning to give another one to a friend who also bakes bread. All in all I recommend this product.

Pros
  • BALANCED BLADE: Ergonomic three rivet handle provides comfort and control
Cons
  • Replacement availability

What an update!: Bread Knife

We have a set of Henckels blocks that are a few years old and worn like iron but don't have a really useful knife for bread. The single serrated blade in the bundle was too small to be taken seriously given a large, caked bulge. It's, well, I wouldn't say it cuts through like butter, but I can get slices instead of chunks of bread, which is a huge improvement! I should have gotten a slightly longer blade, but that's on me.

Pros
  • Ergonomic triple riveted handle offers comfort and control
Cons
  • May I add something

Great bread knife at an affordable price

The bread knives that come in cheaper sets are really good. We've had two for quite some time: one is practically unusable (due to the jagged design) and one was very good but the plastic grip was starting to deteriorate. I have a couple of high-end Henkels that I like best, so I've decided to invest in replacements. It cuts better than any bread knife I've owned or used in family or rental homes. I'm sure it will give me many years of pleasure.

Pros
  • Full shaft lengthens the knife giving it balance and strength
Cons
  • unreliable

What an upgrade! Best cutlery and knife accessories

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Why spend too much for a German?

I have almost a complete set of German handles that I inherited. I really don't see any quality difference between this and my German knife. This knife uses German steel. Why pay $140 for a knife with two man figures instead of one? Even if it doesn't last long, I can buy 3 more with the money saved! It appears to be very durable so I don't expect to be replacing it for many years. It's insanely sharp, be careful.

Pros
  • Good marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Negative gift

Superb utility knife

This knife is a one stop solution for all the hobbyist's culinary needs. I bought a very similar knife from Bed Bath and Beyond about 10 years ago for about $25. This was my favorite knife for all prep. In contrast to other serrated "bread knives" this one is suitable for all types of cuts as the serrations are not as sharp. It works with all vegetables and is often safer than a chef's knife because it cuts into food quickly. Works on soft tomatoes and never slips. After a few years I startedโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
