Okay, but the teeth are too small for a big dog

available in good quality. I would not recommend this collar size for a 70 lb dog. My German Shepherd could still pull excessively. I had it fitted properly, I even gave it to a friend who has a German Shepherd and he had the same experience. It would be great for a dog weighing around 30 to 50 pounds. Overall this is a good spiked collar that I would buy again but with bigger spikes!

Pros
  • Herm Sprenger 50055 | Serrated Training Collar | black anodized stainless steel | (10) 2.25mm Tooth Links | Made in Germany.
Cons
  • Springer update

Great product for clip collars

I have a young dog who I think will only need it for a short time so I won't put the nylon collar around the thin part of her neck. Herm Sprenger was recommended to me and it's a cut above what I had. I prefer the ones with the buckle so they don't have to go over the dog's head and this buckle is great and has a part that slides in to secure it. The teeth are a bit rounded at the ends, which is much better.

Pros
  • Read the product description for more sizing, fit and care advice.
Cons
  • Overall ok but...

Great for control, no pain for my girls!

After practicing putting on and taking off several times, it became easier. The tines won't damage your neck, just give you control. You can buy extra pins to make the collar bigger. I left a prong from my little girl and used it for a larger girl's collar, her neck is about 16 inches long. Great tool as I have shoulder surgery in a few weeks. Allows me to walk with my two girls without them dragging me.

Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

This collar didn't work for no reason!

Worked fine for about 8 months then started falling apart. I figured my dog must have done something to unlink them as it's difficult to "follow" 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Taking a light walk, with no dog tension or activity, THE COLLAR DID NOT WORK! The links just went away for no reason. Suddenly the leash came loose and my dog ran away. I can't believe I didn't see my pup get hit by a car right in front of me. Do I get this for the purchase best?

Pros
  • Clamps
Cons
  • I don't remember

Good collar, comfortable but the fabric stretches a little.

I've been using this collar for about half a year now and we're going back to the buckle collar with prongs. I really liked the clip on this collar as it was very comfortable. The portion of fabric that attaches the clip has stretched enough to render the collar ineffective, but is too small when I pull out a link. My 70 lb German Shepherd pup didn't seem to care if I pulled on this collar, but she stopped pulling when I used a notched collar that tightened. I also decided to buy a collar with…
