This collar is listed as a 20 inch collar. If you only measure the length of the chain, the collar size is 17 inches. Ring gauge from end to end the collar measures 19 1/4 inches. It will NOT go over my dog's head. The third photo shows my old 18" collar (NOT Herm Sprenger) next to a 20" Herm Sprenger. I really liked this slip collar. I know it may sound weird, but it makes a really nice sound, lets me know it's working and lets my dog know it's on. I just love the feel of the metal and its smoothness. Not to mention that he's damn strong. It was hard to figure out how to make a loop (I figured one loop would have to go through the other), but you just fold the chain and thread it through the loop.
