Not suitable for domestic natural gas.

The valve looks nice and the on/off celenoids work well. Unfortunately, once installed, it lets a small amount of gas through in the closed position. The ultimate purpose of the valve is to turn gas flow on and off. If it can't be done perfectly, it's useless. Update: HFS has been of great help by working with me to determine why the valve is not fully closing. We have concluded that the valve works well but is not suitable for domestic natural gas use. The valve is of good quality and is…

12v 1/4 is not suitable for compressed air (unless you retrofit)

If you intend to use this valve to turn compressed air on and off it will not do. The 1/4 12V model has 1/4" ports, but the hole inside is tiny (less than 1/8") and doesn't provide decent airflow. It is more suitable for highly compressed gases such as CO2, Argon, etc. in the tank. Quick update so I took it apart which was pretty easy and the outlet on the 1/4" model is 3/32. I thought what the heck and drilled it down to 3/16. The valve still works and gave me enough airflow for my application

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive

Gets hot but works

(12V 3/4 NPT version) which I used for my cold water line at home (so 60psi). It works as intended and has a fairly simple design overall. The rubber membrane is attached to a metal rod that is pulled in and out by an electromagnetic field. The rubber (which looks like Buna or EPDM) will most likely be a weak point that will fail after a few years and cannot be replaced as it will be pressed against the metal part of the drive. Problems: The thing gets hot. Very hot. I measured 170F after some…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
