Description of 🧊 HIC Harold Import Co. Ice Pick with Protective Cover: A Versatile Tool for Precision Ice Breaking

HIC Kitchen’s Ice Pick with Safety Cover easily chips and breaks up block ice for chilling all types of drinks. Create generously sized ice chunks that melt slower than using ice chips or ice cubes and won’t water down drinks as quickly. Squared wooden handle is easy to grip and won’t roll away when not in use; using an ice pick adds flare to chilling and serving beverages. Perfect for breaking up block chocolate; makes a great hole punch for wood and leather, too. Wipe with a damp cloth.

WORKS PERFECTLY as intended!

Mini fridge with mini freezer in my room. I also make iced coffee often and like to use the small ice cubes that CFA usually carries around. So basically I keep a small container, fill it with ice cubes and put it in the freezer. Nuggets can sometimes bunch up, and this pickaxe quickly smashes through the ice without causing much chaos, scattering ice debris everywhere. Solid product and fair price!

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Some little things

Case/lid broke when first inserting ice ax

I chose this ice ax because of the safety feature of the protective case. The ice ax works well, but it's different. The two pieces were packaged side by side, so the first thing I did after opening the package was put the pick in the wooden box. Partially shared. It's still usable at the moment, but I'm afraid that over time the breakdown will only increase, rendering the case completely unusable.

Pros
  • Availability
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Dangerous metal parts

I bought this ice ax on January 8th, 2019 and it has been about 2 months now. The chrome plating on the pick itself will fall off in small pieces. Used it to break pieces of ice (small) for drinks and noticed small bits of metal at the bottom of our glasses. Looked at the pickaxe and found the problem. I hope no one swallowed the metal, I think we'll find out if someone gets cut in the digestive tract. I would definitely say that this would be a very dangerous risk for anyone purchasing this…

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Update availability

Ice ax bought for continuous use. I buy ice cream bags, bring them home and put them in the freezer. When it comes time to use the ice cream, some of the ice cream will inevitably melt during transportation and freeze after being placed in the freezer. So I use an ice pick a few times a week to break up the ice and add drinks. I've had this ice pick for 4-6 weeks and the nickel plating is peeling off the pick leaving nickel flakes on the ice. I thought I'd buy a stainless steel pick, but…

Pros
  • I like everything so far
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

Failed to load media. Review Update July 18, 2020: After using this ice pick for a year, I noticed silver flakes in my drink. Thank goodness I saw them or I would have swallowed them (maybe I've done that with previous drinks). I looked in the ice cube tray and found several pieces of ice with the same silver flakes. Examined the ice ax and found that the silver plating on the ice ax was missing (see last picture). I don't know what this ice ax is made out of, and I don't know what most ice…

Pros
  • Great for breaking blocks of chocolate; works great on wood and leather,
Cons
  • I'll add later
