Once calibrated I use this pen to feed my plants every other day and it is easy and accurate. the same reading. Will definitely buy again if needed

I declined $15 to write a review because I have to be honest. The unit I received always read 0.17 when not in use so I tried to calibrate it for an hour but it didn't consistently go into calibration mode so I couldn't calibrate it fully .

Followed instructions very closely. The readings were never set to a specific value, even after the recommended reading time of 30 seconds. Try to follow the calibration procedures very carefully. The product did not behave as the calibration procedure explained. This product is a joke. Returned. For the record, I'm an engineer and very good at following technical instructions.

This product is very nicely made and looks very professional (I used it for lab research). Even when not calibrated, it stays within the relative range of what it should be. I recommend having distilled water with you so you can use buffer solution bags to make solutions of known pH. If you don't want to use the bags provided, you can use your own known pH solution to calibrate them.

I've followed the instructions on T and the pH meter just won't calibrate. I've been doing this for half an hour or more and the pH meter keeps resetting. I washed the electrode with distilled water, dried it and immersed it in a 6.86 calibration solution, but the device does not adjust for calibration. I've never had a PH meter so I can't compare the accuracy exactly but according to google distilled water has a PH of around 5.4 to 5 ,7, This meter reads about 5.70 when I tested it in distilled water, so it seems accurate enough for my purposes of making plant fertigation mixes. Calibration was difficult at first. And there was only one of each calibration powder, so if you messed up, you'll have to back-order the powder. I wish they had some bags of calibration powder with them. This takes a few seconds longer than expected and you must hold the meter completely still to get a stable reading.
