Dont buy aftermarket

I should have ordered oem thermostat. This housing is fine but the sensors that come with it are not. The first sensor plugged in to original harness fine but the other one did not. Cant use the factory temp sensors because coolant will leak from the sensor ports on the housing. Shaved part of the plastic on one sensor that didnt plug in to harness and it plugs in fine now. New problem is that when the engine is cold. when it first starts up and the sensor think the motor is warmed up.

  • Can not complain about product just a bear cat to install since you have to pull intake manifold.

  • The enhanced performance offered by this product may not be noticeable to all drivers, especially those who use their vehicles primarily for standard daily commutes

Wiring harness does not fit on one temp sensor

2004 B4000 here. Fitment of the unit is fine, but the thermostat sensors do not fit the wiring harnesses. Old sensors were both blue, both with a symmetrical wiring harness. This unit has one sensor blue, one brown. Blue sensor fits. Brown sensor does not fit on the harness. Guess I order an o-ring to fit one of my old temp sensors?Unit is installed, so it's not coming back out. But either motorad has the wrong info on fitment or Ebay does. disappointed here.

Its a complete swap out module

It's still good after 2 weeks. The install on my 4.0 engine was easier when I removed the alternator, idler and bracket. That's my feedback.

old one cracked best in my review

I didn't pull the intake from the vehicle which would have made the job easier. It wasn't too hard to install this way just more time consuming. It works well and has everything correct for this application.

Dont come with everything it says

Description says it comes with sensors and thermostat. It does not i only bought this product Because it said it came with sensors and thermostat. Do yourself a favor and buy the cheaper priced ones they are all using the dorman replacement. Company know it misrepresenting this part

Had to remove the thermostat on the housing to install on my 2001 ford ranger 4.0L v6 sohc

The housing fits and seems to be leak free! Time will tell, but I would highly recommend this replacement part at this time.

Good fit '01 4.0 Ranger

Nice fit on an '01 Ford Ranger with 4.0. One of my three bolts that anchor this housing snapped (not the fault of the part of course). I had to weld a nut onto the remaining bit of bolt that was (fortunately) still sticking up above the manifold to remove it. The hold-down bolts for this part are M6x1.0x80mm if you wind up needing them.Overall I recommend the part - includes everything (sensors, thermostat) and is priced very reasonably.
